Access Bank Regulatory Compliance Thought Leadership Initiative
“Spot the Scam”
By registering for and participating in the Access Bank Regulatory Compliance Thought Leadership Initiative, themed “Spot the Scam” (the “Initiative”), participating schools, students, parents/guardians, and designated school coordinators agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions.
By accepting this Terms & Condition, the schools enters into a Data Processing Agreement with Access Bank Plc.
1. Eligibility
1.1The Initiative is open to secondary school students aged 12–16 years.
1.2Participation must be facilitated through a registered school.
1.3Each participating school shall designate a school coordinator who will serve as the primary point of contact between the school and Access Bank Plc.
1.4Schools and participants shall be required to provide accurate and complete information during registration.
1.5Access Bank reserves the right to verify the eligibility of participating schools, school coordinators, and students.
2. Registration
2.1Registration for the Initiative is free of charge.
2.2Participation in the Initiative is subject to successful registration and confirmation by Access Bank Plc.
2.3Participating schools are responsible for ensuring that all information submitted during registration is accurate and up to date.
2.4Access Bank reserves the right to decline, suspend, or cancel any registration where false, incomplete, or misleading information has been provided.
3. Programme Participation
3.1Training and other learning activities under the Initiative may be delivered virtually and/or physically, as determined by Access Bank Plc.
3.2Participants are expected to attend and actively participate in the relevant sessions and activities communicated by the organisers.
3.3Access Bank reserves the right to determine the format, schedule, venue, duration, and structure of all activities under the Initiative.
3.4Participants and participating schools will be notified of relevant programme activities and requirements through their designated school coordinators and other official communication channels.
4. Certificates of Participation
4.1Participating schools and eligible students will receive a Certificate of Participation, subject to meeting the participation requirements communicated for the Initiative.
4.2Access Bank reserves the right to determine the criteria for the issuance of certificates.
4.3Certificates are non-transferable and may only be issued to duly registered and eligible participants.
5. Participant Conduct
5.1All participants are expected to conduct themselves responsibly, respectfully, and in a manner appropriate for an educational environment.
5.2Any form of bullying, harassment, discrimination, abuse, disruptive behaviour, or other inappropriate conduct will not be tolerated.
5.3Participants must comply with all reasonable instructions issued by Access Bank, programme facilitators, school representatives, and authorised event officials.
5.4Access Bank reserves the right to suspend or remove any participant whose conduct is deemed inappropriate or disruptive.
6. Parental/Guardian and School Consent
6.1As the Initiative involves participants under the age of 18, participating schools are responsible for obtaining any necessary consent or approval from parents or legal guardians, before their participation in the Spot the Scam initiative. The consent also covers any photography, videography, or other recording involving student participants during this initiative.
6.2Participating schools shall ensure that students participate in accordance with their school’s policies and applicable safeguarding requirements.
6.3Access Bank may require additional consent or documentation before students participate in specific physical or virtual activities, where required.
7. Photography, Video and Media
7.1Access Bank or its authorised representatives may photograph, film, or otherwise record activities conducted as part of the Initiative.
7.2Any photography, videography, or other recording involving student participants is subject to the consent obtained in 6.1 in line with applicable laws and regulations in form of a signed Parent/Guardian Consent Form.
7.3Subject to the required permissions and consents, Access Bank may use approved photographs, videos, recordings, testimonials, or other materials from the Initiative for communication, publicity, educational, and promotional purposes on its website, social media (such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, TikTok), news publications, bill-board, radio and other approved communication channels in the Bank.
8. Data Protection and Privacy
8.1Personal information collected in connection with the Initiative will be securely retained for 1 year from September 21st, 2026 and processed for purposes relating to registration, administration, communication, participation, certification, and publicity (see 7.3 for details on publicity and applicable media / channels) connected with the Initiative. All personal data will be deleted after 1 year.
8.2Access Bank will handle personal information in accordance with applicable data protection laws and its relevant privacy policies. The Bank’s Data Protection Officer will be responsible for addressing any data privacy related concerns and can be contacted at privacy@accessbankplc.com
8.3Participating schools and designated coordinators must secure appropriate authority and permissions to provide any information submitted on behalf of students. As a pre-requisite to enrolling any student for this initiative, the consent must be provided to Access Bank in form of a signed Parent/Guardian Consent Form and Data Processing Agreement signed by the school’s authorised signatories.
8.4Towards enhancing service delivery, Access Bank may share data with our technical support and other service providers, partners, associates, and subsidiaries in the group. However, where applicable, compliant data-sharing agreements or data-processing agreements will be executed to provide an extra layer of protection for personal information shared in the process.
9. Intellectual Property
9.1All training materials, study materials, presentations, branding, and other content provided as part of the Initiative remain the property of Access Bank Plc or the relevant rights holders, unless otherwise stated.
9.2Such materials may not be reproduced, distributed, modified, or used for commercial purposes without prior written permission from Access Bank Plc.
10. Programme Changes
10.1Access Bank reserves the right to modify, postpone, reschedule, suspend, or cancel any aspect of the Initiative where reasonably necessary.
10.2Where possible, participating schools will be notified of any material changes through their designated school coordinators or other official communication channels.
11. Limitation of Liability
11.1Participation in the Initiative is voluntary.
11.2Access Bank shall not be responsible for any loss, damage, or expense arising from participation in the Initiative, except where such liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
11.3Participating schools, students, parents/guardians, and coordinators are expected to take reasonable care and comply with all applicable instructions and safety requirements during physical and virtual activities.
12. General
12.1Access Bank reserves the right to make decisions regarding the administration and operation of the Initiative.
12.2Any decision made by Access Bank concerning eligibility, participation, programme administration, or related matters shall be final, subject to applicable law.
12.3These Terms and Conditions may be updated or amended by Access Bank where necessary.
12.4Continued participation in the Initiative after notification of any applicable changes will constitute acceptance of the revised Terms and Conditions.

By registering for or participating in the Initiative, participating schools, designated coordinators, and all participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions, the Privacy Policy and the Data Processing Agreement.
